LOVELAND — Blocky’s Eatery, a new “fast-food casual” Italian restaurant, opened Monday, Jan. 23, in Orchards Shopping Center.

According to owner Chris Talarico Bailey, “Everything is geared to someone who has 10 minutes for lunch, to eat and be out, and get higher-quality food than the typical fast-food chains.”

His menu, featuring Italian fare  offers 10 gourmet pizzas by the slice – such as White pizza, Rustica pizza and a Mediterranean pizza. Blocky’s also will serve Calzones, Italian sub sandwiches, Pasta dishes and a variety of Salads..

The restaurant, in the former Lorenzo’s Italian Deli location at 285 E. 29th St. Suite A, between Jensen Arms and Inta Juice, will seat 50, Bailey said.

It will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Bailey said Blocky was the nickname of his grandfather, a machinist in Pennsylvania. “A lot of my passion for food came from my grandfather,” he said.

“When I was a kid, he brought me to the local Eagles club. He played cards, and I learned how to bartend and cook for all the old Italian guys playing cards,” Bailey said.

Blocky’s has two 42-inch TVs and a new big screen, and “We’re completely family-friendly.”

Come dine in with the Family and have the best East Coast Style Pizza fresh out of the Brick oven the way it was ment to be.
